Sarah Naylor was born on the Isle of Skye and is one of Scotland's leading young traditional musicians. From a family with
a tradition of fiddle playing she began lessons with Christine Martin, fiddle teacher and music publisher on Skye. Attending
summer courses brought her into contact with world famous musicians, including Buddy MacMaster, Bruce MacGregor and Alasdair
Fraser who have greatly influenced her style and playing. In 2004 she won the Oban Fiddle Masters, was a finalist in The Young
Scottish Tradional Musician of the Year Competition, and winner of the prestigious Glenfiddich Fiddle Championships in 2005.
She is an experienced fiddle teacher at Celtic Connections Festival, Glasgow, the Feisan and many other traditional music
groups. Sarah's relaxed and encouraging teaching style and phrase by phrase tuition makes learning easy and invites you into
a world of authentic Scottish fiddle music. She teaches the style and techniques of rhythm, bowing and ornaments appropriate
for intermediate level players and by the end of the session you'll be playing tunes such as Mrs MacLeod of Raasay, The Stool
of Repentance, The Braes of Tullimet, Pipers Cave and many more. From this solid foundation in Scottish Fiddle Music you will
have the confidence to play for your own entertainment and for Ceilidh Dances.
