Far below the towering cliffs of a rocky island, a group of huge creatures hover motionless in the gloom of a vast underwater
cave. At over 12 feet in length and weighing up to 200 pounds, they drift like unearthly squadrons of living stealth bombers
in their hidden gathering place. A high-tech shadow, she is armed with a barbed tail putrid with toxins and bacteria and capable
of piercing any armour with razor sharp accuracy. But for all her fearsome weaponry, the ray is also a surprisingly gentle
creature that can be hand fed, even in the wild. Hand feeding the rays has uncovered a remarkable attribute, the rays' sense
of timing. While most animals have a limited sense of time, rays have the ability to associate time with particular events,
in this case, feeding. Computer graphics and close-up footage give us an incredibly detailed insight into the life of this
enigma of the sea.
